Dolomites Dream Highlights

A legendary guided hut-to-hut hike through the Rosengarten, Seiser Alm, Sella and Marmolada.

This guided hut-to-hut hike takes you right into the spectacular mountain world of the Dolomites: wild, majestic and unforgettable. From the legendary realm of King Laurin in the Rosengarten, the route crosses the Seiser Alm, passes the distinctive Plattkofel and Langkofel, continues to the Sella, reaches Piz Boè and finally circles the Marmolada, the “Queen of the Dolomites”.

Over six days, you experience striking contrasts: wide high pastures, narrow mountain paths, dramatic rock walls, panoramic passes and the special atmosphere of classic Dolomite huts. Sörmland Outdoor is your contact for enquiries and information; the tour is operated in cooperation with Bergschule Kleinwalsertal.

This route combines some of the best-known landscapes in the Dolomites into one compact and intensive week of hiking. At the beginning, you enter the Rosengarten, a rock landscape full of legends and glowing evening light. The route then opens towards the Seiser Alm and the striking peaks of Plattkofel and Langkofel.
Via the Sella Pass, the trail leads up into the rugged world of the Sella. If conditions allow, Piz Boè at 3,152 metres is one of the great highlights of the tour. Towards the end, the scenery changes again around the Marmolada with its mighty rock faces.

Who is this tour for?

This trip is suitable for walkers with previous mountain experience, good fitness, sure-footedness and a good head for heights. The daily stages are not extremely long, but they lead through Alpine to high-Alpine terrain and can be demanding depending on weather, snow conditions and trail conditions. It is ideal for guests who want to experience the Dolomites in depth: not as a short panoramic walk, but as a real hut-to-hut journey from place to place with professional guiding and reliable organisation.

Fitness
Ascents and descents of up to 1,200 vertical metres, with a maximum walking time of 4 to 6 hours per day, depending on the weather, trail conditions and the fitness of the group. Longer breaks are usually taken after around 1 to 2 hours of walking.

Technical requirements
You will mainly hike on moderately difficult mountain trails, which are mostly narrow and steep. Occasional rocky and exposed sections are well secured with steel cables and may require the use of your hands from time to time. Depending on weather and snow conditions in the mountains, the ground can be slippery. For these tours, you should already have hiking experience and be sure-footed with a good head for heights.

About the region

The Dolomites are part of the Southern Limestone Alps and are among the most impressive mountain landscapes in Europe. Distinctive rock formations such as the Rosengarten, Langkofel, Sella and Marmolada shape the character of the region.

Parts of the Dolomites have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. The pale limestone and dolomite rock is especially striking in the warm light of morning and evening. This tour combines that scenic variety with the special culture of South Tyrol and Trentino.
